Onur Soytürk, detained in IMM operation, had spoken to 12punto: 'My most important project...'
Onur Soytürk, the former General Manager of IMM İmar A.Ş. who was detained in the operation targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, had stated in an interview with 12punto before the March 31 Local Elections, "My most important project is to save the people of Zeytinburnu from coffin-like houses."

Within the scope of the operations launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), detention warrants were issued for 53 people.
50 people were detained in simultaneous operations carried out in the early hours of the morning at addresses identified in Istanbul, Ankara, and Tekirdağ.
Urban planner and former General Manager of IMM İmar A.Ş. Onur Soytürk, who is among those detained as part of the investigation, had spoken to 12punto before the March 31 Local Elections.
Soytürk, who was the CHP's mayoral candidate for Zeytinburnu in the local elections, had stated that his biggest project was to save the people of Zeytinburnu from collapsing in an Istanbul earthquake through urban transformation.
Soytürk had noted the following:
"My first and most important election promise is urban transformation. Because my motivation for becoming the CHP's mayoral candidate for Zeytinburnu is the need to save Zeytinburnu from coffin-like houses; the CHP recognized this problem and nominated me for this reason. If I become Mayor, this will be the primary issue.
I am a mayoral candidate who will be elected to carry out urban transformation. Therefore, my first and most important project is to save our fellow citizens from coffin-like houses."
