Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu, wife of detained Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, has issued a call to politicians.
Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu, wife of the detained IMM Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, shared her assessments regarding the current agenda through her social media account.
In her post, Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu included the following remarks:
''The people of our country are being tested by a struggle for survival. The economy is becoming more difficult with each passing day; young people are seeking their futures in other countries, retirees cannot make ends meet, and families are struggling to maintain their hope.
Democracy is being trampled upon.
The belief in the impartiality of the law has been damaged, and the sense of justice has been deeply wounded. People who think differently are under pressure. Freedom has remained in the shadow of fear.
I am calling out to all politicians;
The nation is tired.
The nation wants change.
The nation is in the streets.
We are a nation that knows both democracy and justice. The nation now wants to see the results of the authority it has granted you. Fulfilling the requirements of this authority means upholding the will of the people, justice, and democracy. It is the right of us all to live in a fairer, freer, and more peaceful country.
The duty of politics is not to polarize, but to hear and amplify the voice of the people.
Today, the greatest need of the people is a democracy that inspires trust, merit-based governance, and a future they can hope for.''
