Within the scope of a large-scale investigation conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an operation was carried out against the armed criminal organizations known as 'Casperlar' and 'Çirkinler'. A total of 7 people, including 3 children, were detained during the operation.
CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE ANNOUNCES OPERATION
The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued a written statement regarding the matter. The Prosecutor's Office stated that the operation was part of a series of investigations conducted within the scope of combating organized crime.
GANG MEMBERS CAPTURED
According to the statement, on December 3, 2025, in a district of Istanbul, 2 suspects preparing to carry out actions on behalf of the 'Casperlar' and 'Çirkinler' armed criminal organizations were caught with a stolen motorcycle and an unlicensed pistol. Following the detentions, the investigation was further expanded.
CHILDREN INVOLVED IN CRIME ALSO CAPTURED
Within the framework of the investigation, 3 suspects were identified in connection with the shooting of a residence in the Esenyurt district on November 21, 2025. One of these individuals was recorded as a child dragged into crime. Within the same investigation, arrest and detention warrants were issued for 4 suspects, 2 of whom were children, regarding the shooting of the Vintage Motors auto gallery located in the Bakırköy district on November 25, 2025.
As a result, a total of 7 suspects were detained in the operation carried out on December 5, 2025. While 3 of them were children dragged into crime, the others were adult suspects. Following the operation, the suspects were referred to the Bakırköy Courthouse, and proceedings against them have begun.
GANG ACTIVITIES CONTINUE
It was stated that the investigation is ongoing and that other individuals connected to the organization are also being tracked. Examinations conducted so far regarding the detained individuals have revealed that the gang was involved in criminal activities in various neighborhoods, particularly in Istanbul.
