Operation against criminal organization involved in arms and drug trafficking in Ankara: 23 suspects arrested

In operations conducted under the coordination of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 23 suspects were arrested and a large number of weapons and drugs were seized during investigations into a criminal organization led by I.Ş., which was determined to be involved in numerous crimes.

In investigations conducted under the coordination of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 23 suspects were identified who were determined to have been involved in numerous crimes across the province. It was determined that the suspects committed the crimes of organized qualified robbery, drug and stimulant trafficking, possession of drugs for personal use, threats, carrying and possessing unlicensed weapons, arms and ammunition trafficking, destruction or concealment of criminal evidence, attempting to influence judicial proceedings, and obstruction of the freedom of work and labor, all within the scope of Article 220 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK).

In operations targeting the criminal organization led by I.Ş., 1,680 Lyrica pills, 3 pistols, 3 magazines, 70 cartridges of various calibers, 1 ballistic vest, 125 synthetic pharmaceutical substances, 7 grams of cannabis, and 1 detector used in device searches were seized.

The 23 detained suspects were referred to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. All of the suspects, who were brought before the duty Magistrate Judge with a request for arrest, were arrested and sent to prison.
