Operation against FETÖ's Land Forces Command structure

Detention warrants have been issued for 22 suspects as part of an investigation into the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization's structure within the Land Forces Command.

Investigations conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau revealed that certain personnel had links and connections to the structure within the Land Forces Command targeted and infiltrated by the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization, known as 'covert services'.

Within the scope of the investigations carried out by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau, it was determined that the suspects communicated with civilian imams using payphones and fixed lines located in public businesses such as kiosks, grocery stores, and markets in various districts across Ankara. It was decided to simultaneously detain a total of 22 suspects in 9 provinces, with Ankara as the center, including 5 active-duty officers (colonel, captain, first lieutenant), 3 active-duty non-commissioned officers, 2 dismissed officers (major), 4 retired officers (colonel), 2 retired non-commissioned officers, 2 dismissed non-commissioned officers, 3 active-duty public officials (engineer and teacher), and 1 private sector employee.

Operations to apprehend the suspects and transfer them to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office are being continued by teams from the Ankara Provincial Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Branch.
