Operation against the 'Gündoğmuşlar' criminal organization: 10 people detained

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has conducted a new operation as part of an investigation into the foreign-linked criminal organization known as the "Gündoğmuşlar."
According to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the organization, which is associated with serious crimes such as intentional homicide, assault, threats, robbery, and shooting at workplaces, was operating internationally and across Turkey, particularly in Istanbul. It was stated that the organization's leadership is based abroad.
Ten individuals identified as operating within the organization were detained this morning at 07:00 in simultaneous raids conducted by the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Bureau. Searches of the suspects' addresses resulted in the seizure of one unlicensed pistol, 12 cartridges, one bulletproof vest, 12 narcotic pills, 10 grams of narcotics, and one precision scale.
The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that investigations against all criminal organizations will continue with determination.
The statement from the Prosecutor's Office is as follows:
"Within the scope of the investigation conducted by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Organized Crime Investigation Bureau, in coordination with the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Bureau, into the actions and activities of the 'Gündoğmuşlar' criminal organization—a new-generation criminal group whose leadership is based abroad and which operates internationally and across our country, particularly in Istanbul, with a focus on acts including intentional homicide, intentional assault, threats, robbery, and shooting at workplaces for the purpose of robbery; 10 suspects identified as operating within the organization were detained as a result of simultaneous apprehension and detention operations carried out as of 07:00 today. Searches conducted at their residences resulted in the seizure of: -1 unlicensed pistol -12 cartridges -1 bulletproof vest -12 narcotic pills -10 grams of narcotics -1 precision scale.
