An operation was conducted against illegal parking attendants in Istanbul's Beşiktaş district. In the operation organized by the Istanbul Traffic Inspection Branch Directorate, 12 suspects known as "değnekçi" (illegal parking attendants) were detained. A total of 152,985 TL in fines were issued as part of the operation.

It was determined that certain individuals in Ortaköy, Kuruçeşme, Arnavutköy, and Bebek were unlawfully demanding fees from people wishing to park their vehicles on the street.

A total of 12 people were detained in the operation carried out against the suspects on December 14.

Legal proceedings were initiated against the suspects under the article of the Highway Traffic Law regarding "collecting or attempting to collect parking fees from vehicles in parking spaces on the highway without authorization from the administration authorized to designate parking spaces or without an operating permit granted by said administration." The suspects were released by judicial authorities, with their files forwarded to the prosecutor's office.

Furthermore, the teams issued a total of 152,985 Turkish Lira in fines to the suspects, including 190 citations for "parking in prohibited areas," 5 citations for "placing, leaving, or dumping items on the roadway in a way that hinders traffic," and 9 citations for "pedestrians behaving in a way that obstructs or endangers traffic, or using these areas disrespectfully," all under the Highway Traffic Law.
