Operation against those carrying unlicensed weapons: 2,738 weapons seized
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that 2,459 suspects were processed and 2,738 weapons were seized during the "Mercek-25" operations conducted across 81 provinces against arms smuggling and those carrying unlicensed weapons.

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya stated in a post on his social media account that operations were carried out by 81 provincial gendarmerie commands and provincial police departments against arms smugglers and those carrying unlicensed weapons.
'2,459 SUSPECTS PROCESSED'
Noting that 2,738 unlicensed weapons were seized in homes, workplaces, public areas, and road searches as a result of the operations, Yerlikaya provided information that 2,459 suspects were processed.
"We will continue to catch those who procure unlicensed weapons one by one and deliver them to justice. With your prayers and support, our fight against criminal groups that want their own dark order to prevail will continue without interruption," said Yerlikaya, congratulating the governors and district governors who coordinated the operations, as well as the gendarmerie and police forces who carried them out.
