Operation at Borsa Istanbul: 7 detention warrants issued

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Bureau of Investigation for Smuggling, Narcotics, and Economic Crimes has launched an investigation into suspects identified as having engaged in manipulation of certain capital market instruments traded on Borsa Istanbul.
Within the scope of the investigation, an operation was carried out against suspects determined to have attempted to artificially influence trading volumes and prices in the BIST equity market.
Following the instructions of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, detention warrants were issued for 7 individuals on charges of "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes" and "market fraud" as part of efforts conducted by the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch in Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara, and Şanlıurfa.
It was reported that work regarding the details of the operation is ongoing.
