Operation at DEM Party district office in Esenyurt

Two individuals identified as having engaged in terrorist propaganda on social media were detained during an operation conducted at the DEM Party Esenyurt District Headquarters in Istanbul.

An investigation was launched by the Istanbul Police Department's Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism (TEM) branches to apprehend two individuals identified as having engaged in terrorist organization propaganda on social media. 

Following the investigation file prepared by the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the decision of the Büyükçekmece 3rd Criminal Judgeship of Peace, teams from the Istanbul Counter-Terrorism Branch Office conducted searches at three addresses in Esenyurt. 

The suspects were apprehended and detained at the DEM Party Esenyurt District Headquarters building. During the searches, numerous banned publications, newspapers, photographs and posters of terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan, and digital materials belonging to the suspects were seized. 

The two suspects, whose procedures were completed at the police station, were arrested by the judicial authorities to whom they were referred and sent to prison.
