Operation at Konak Municipality: 4 people detained
Four people have been detained in an operation in İzmir regarding allegations of irregularities in a European Union-supported project at Konak Municipality.

The İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is investigating allegations of irregularities in the service tender conducted within the scope of the Strategic Partnership for Awareness, Climate and Environment (SPACE) Project, which is supported by the European Union at Konak Municipality. In this context, allegations regarding a construction tender at İZ-TARIM, a subsidiary of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, are also under investigation.
The investigation, conducted under the coordination of Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor Necati Kayaközü, includes charges of "rigging the performance of an obligation." The investigation, which was initiated in line with reports from the Inspection Board of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and various tips, involved technical and physical surveillance.
Within the framework of the investigation, simultaneous operations were carried out at designated addresses in the morning hours. As a result of these operations, detention warrants were issued for a total of five people, including one person in Erzincan. However, one person could not be found at their address, and four people were detained.
While the investigation is ongoing, authorities refrained from providing further information regarding the details of the operation.
