The Ministry of National Defense (MSB), in an announcement published under the title 'Statement regarding air operations carried out in northern Iraq,' reported that 12 targets were destroyed in operations conducted in Gara and Qandil.

Announcing the operation, the MSB stated, ''The operation was carried out with the aim of neutralizing the PKK/KCK and other terrorist elements, eliminating terrorist attacks against our people and security forces from northern Iraq, and ensuring our border security.''

''A LARGE NUMBER OF TERRORISTS HAVE BEEN NEUTRALIZED''

The statement made by the Ministry of National Defense is as follows:

''In order to neutralize the PKK/KCK and other terrorist elements, eliminate attacks against our people and security forces from northern Iraq, and ensure our border security; in accordance with our legitimate self-defense rights arising from Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, air operations were conducted on November 7, 2023, at 18:00 against terrorist targets located in the Gara and Qandil regions of northern Iraq. With the air operations carried out, a total of 12 targets, consisting of caves, bunkers, shelters, and warehouses used by the Separatist Terrorist Organization (BTÖ) and assessed to contain terrorists at the responsible level, were destroyed.

In the operations conducted, a large number of terrorists were neutralized using the maximum amount of domestic and national ammunition.

The Turkish Armed Forces, which emerged from the bosom of our noble nation, will continue the fight against terrorism with determination and resolve until not a single terrorist remains, for the survival and security of our country and nation, just as it has in the past.

During these operations, every measure was taken to ensure that innocent civilians, friendly elements, historical and cultural assets, and the environment were not harmed.
