An internationally wanted convict was captured during an operation carried out by the Yunus Teams of the Public Security Branch of the Provincial Police Department in Kütahya. During identity checks conducted in the Paşam Sultan neighborhood, it was determined that a person who drew attention with suspicious behavior was using a fake ID.
As a result of the investigations, it was determined that the person taken into custody was Nazar Mohammad Nazari, an Afghan national wanted by Interpol with a red notice.
SUSPICIOUS BEHAVIOR PROMPTED POLICE ACTION
The incident occurred during an inspection carried out by the Yunus Teams on Pekmez Pazarı Street in the Paşam Sultan neighborhood.
During the inspection, the teams stopped a person they suspected and performed an identity check. The investigation revealed that the ID presented by the individual was fake. Following this, the suspect was taken into custody.
TRUE IDENTITY REVEALED
As a result of detailed work by police teams, it was determined that the suspect's true identity was 29-year-old Afghan national Nazar Mohammad Nazari.
Research revealed that Nazari had been wanted worldwide by the Interpol Europol Presidency with a red notice since November 23, 2023.
12 YEARS AND 6 MONTHS PRISON SENTENCE FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING
In the inquiry conducted regarding the suspect, it was revealed that he had a finalized prison sentence of 12 years and 6 months handed down by the Konya Heavy Penal Execution Office for the crime of "Trafficking in Narcotic or Stimulant Substances."
It was also determined that there was a judicial fine of 25,000 Turkish Lira against Nazari.
A TOTAL OF 5 CRIMINAL RECORDS FOUND
In the examinations carried out by police units, it was determined that Nazar Mohammad Nazari had records for various crimes.
Accordingly, it was learned that the suspect had a total of 5 separate criminal records, including;
3 for the crime of "Escape of a Convict or Detainee,"
and 2 for the crime of "Drug Trafficking."
