As part of a comprehensive investigation conducted in Istanbul, allegations have emerged regarding violations of zoning legislation in connection with the Beylikdüzü Municipality. During the investigation process, it was determined that license projects on four different blocks and parcels belonging to the same firm were not followed and that changes contrary to zoning regulations were made. Despite all these irregularities, it was determined that occupancy permits (iskan) were issued by the municipality.

Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch launched the operation based on expert reports prepared during the work coordinated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. It was reported that the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change also supported the process.

The operation was not limited to Istanbul; simultaneous raids were also carried out in the provinces of Giresun and Bursa targeting the suspects. Within the scope of the operations, 27 people, including municipal personnel, construction company employees, and individuals from building inspection firms, were detained.

While investigations into the detained suspects continue, authorities stated that the process is being carried out with sensitivity to investigate the allegations. It was learned that the investigation into the incident is continuing in a multi-faceted manner.
