Operations against 12 separate criminal organizations in 9 provinces

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya shared updated information regarding operations conducted by gendarmerie teams against organized crime groups over the last two weeks.

According to data provided by the Ministry, 106 people were taken into custody in operations carried out against 12 different criminal structures in 9 provinces. Of these suspects, 68 were arrested, while 34 were released under judicial control conditions. It was reported that the judicial processes for the remaining individuals are ongoing.

Yerlikaya used the following expressions regarding the operations:

“We have apprehended 106 suspects in our operations conducted by our Gendarmerie over the last 2 weeks against 12 separate Organized Crime Groups in 9 provinces. We have prevented our citizens from being harmed by crimes such as fraud, usury, and arms smuggling that these organized crime group members might commit.”

Minister Yerlikaya stated that 68 people were arrested and judicial control provisions were applied to 34 suspects, and continued his statement as follows:

"Under the coordination of our Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices and the Gendarmerie Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) and Cybercrime Combat Departments; the suspects caught in the operations organized by the Provincial Gendarmerie Commands were found to have:

In Kahramanmaraş; issued fake driver's licenses on behalf of individuals who failed driver's license exams,

In Diyarbakır; conducted drug trafficking in an organized manner,

In Balıkesir; engaged in arms smuggling,

In Antalya; defrauded our citizens via social media,

In Muğla; embezzled cash aid paid for our citizens in need,

In Tekirdağ and Yalova; defrauded our citizens by posing as public officials,

In Manisa and Bitlis; engaged in usury. Investigations have been initiated by our prosecutor's offices against these individuals."
