Organized crime group threatening businessmen dismantled

As a result of the "KAFES-33" operations carried out simultaneously in Istanbul, Ankara, Diyarbakır, and Mersin, it has been reported that the organized crime group led by Ahmet Söylemez has been dismantled, according to a statement by Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya.

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya stated in a post on his social media account: “In the “KAFES-33” operations carried out simultaneously in Istanbul, Ankara, Diyarbakır, and Mersin, the organized crime group led by Ahmet Söylemez was dismantled. Along with the leader of the organization, 9 suspects were apprehended in the operations. We will make life difficult for organized crime groups and those who disturb the peace of our people. We will cut off their breath.”

According to Yerlikaya's post, within the scope of the work carried out by the Istanbul Police Department's Organized Crime Branch under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security's Department of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime, it was determined that the organized crime group led by Ahmet Söylemez pressured business people by shooting at their workplaces and thereby demanded money from them, threatened business people and their families with death, and carried out armed attacks against business people who refused to pay and their close relatives.
