Outrage in Muğla: 'Allegations of harassment against university students at a guesthouse'

One suspect has been arrested as part of the investigation into the allegations that university students were harassed at a guesthouse in Fethiye, Muğla, on May 15. Following the public outcry after the incident, the Muğla Governor's Office issued a written statement.

''PERPETRATOR F.T. APPREHENDED''

In the statement made by the Governor's Office, it was noted that the incident occurred at a guesthouse in Fethiye in the early hours of Friday, May 15, 2026, around 03:30. Emphasizing that law enforcement acted swiftly, the statement included the following remarks:

"Following the incident that took place at a guesthouse in Fethiye on Friday, May 15, 2026, around 03:30, the investigation conducted by security forces determined that the perpetrator in question was F.T. (36)."

''ARRESTED BY THE COURT''

It was reported that the identified suspect was swiftly apprehended in an operation coordinated by the Fethiye Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. After being processed at the police station, F.T. was referred to the courthouse, where he was arrested by the criminal judgeship of peace and sent to prison.

''ADMINISTRATIVE INVESTIGATION INTO THE GUESTHOUSE''

The Governor's Office announced that, in addition to the judicial process, action has also been taken against the business where the incident occurred. The statement indicated that a comprehensive administrative investigation has been launched regarding the guesthouse where the students were victimized.
