A photo from prison of B.B., one of the perpetrators detained in connection with the murder of 15-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, has become a major topic of discussion.
The fact that B.B. is smiling while speaking on a payphone in prison has drawn significant backlash.
"IT DEMONSTRATES A COMPLETE LACK OF REMORSE"
The family's lawyer, Rezan Epözdemir, reacted to the photo on his X account.
Epözdemir stated the following:
"Ahmet Minguzzi was brutally and savagely murdered on January 24, 2025, for no reason at all, and his future, his tomorrows, and his hopes were stolen from him. Two perpetrators were arrested after the incident, and two more were arrested following our complaint on May 1, 2025. Yesterday, an image of one of the perpetrators of this murder, which is 'contrary to the very nature of being human,' was shared on social media and news sites. This image reveals that the perpetrator who murdered Ahmet feels no remorse, has no sense of regret, and almost assigns value to this murder, viewing it as a commendation. This photo is inhumane and unconscionable. This photo shows how the perpetrators, far from being rehabilitated, are actually proud. This photo reveals the pathological perspective awaiting our Ahmet and all Ahmets. This photo shows how the fundamental and universal principles of penal execution law, and the goal of correction and rehabilitation, have been destroyed. This photo reveals an approach that takes pride and boasts about murdering a child in the prime of his life, at just 14 years old, for no reason. The only thing this photo does not reveal is remorse and humanity. Now I ask these perpetrators who murdered Ahmet: Ahmet was an angel, but are you HUMAN?"
