Overtime in Parliament: AKP's controversial proposals on the TBMM agenda
The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly will continue its work until July 24, including weekends. The economic package, which includes regulations in the energy and health sectors as well as some changes to the tax system, is on the agenda.

The TBMM, which postponed its work while it was expected to go on recess on July 1, has entered a busy schedule to complete the regulations on its agenda.
According to a report by the pro-government newspaper Türkiye Gazetesi, according to the program prepared by the AKP Group, the General Assembly will continue its work until July 24, including weekends.
Along with the "super leave" regulation, which has sparked public reaction, some new rules for the energy sector are expected to be discussed. These regulations include provisions that would pave the way for opening olive groves to mining activities.
The economic package is expected to be the second item on the agenda. This package includes topics such as combating the informal economy, ensuring tax justice, and limiting various tax deductions and exemptions.
NEW REGULATIONS IN HEALTHCARE AS WELL
There are also regulations concerning the healthcare sector on Parliament's agenda. This proposal, which has not yet been enacted, will be brought to the General Assembly before the recess. The regulation includes issues such as preventing stockpiling and opportunism in medicine, establishing an e-tracking system for special medical products, restricting advertising activities of private hospitals, enabling organ donation via e-Devlet, and deterrent fines against medical device fraud.
In addition, the proposal includes a limitation on physicians working in private health institutions to work in only two places at the same time, increasing the number of specialist physicians in family health centers, and regulations regarding the medical use of hemp.
According to the scheduled agenda, four international agreements are also planned to be voted on in Parliament.
PREPARATIONS FOR A NEW COMMISSION
On the other hand, as part of a new process to be created under the title of "Terror-Free Turkey," the goal is to establish a commission in the TBMM where all political parties will be represented. In this context, it was reported that TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş will send a letter to the parties next week requesting them to nominate members for the commission.
