Özdağ reveals the intent behind Erdoğan's 'normalization' statements: 'A political tactic'

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ evaluated the 'new opening process' currently on the agenda during a live broadcast. Özdağ also revealed the intent behind President Erdoğan's 'normalization' statements.

The statements made by Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ, who participated in a live broadcast on Habertürk, are as follows:

Turkey used the YPG as a trump card against Bashar al-Assad during the opening process. Because we supported the YPG, the man at its head was welcomed with a red carpet during the opening process.

You remember the Kobani events, don't you? It was said that if Kobani falls, the process ends. Öcalan also pointed to Kobani as part of the peace process.

There is a regional dimension to the second opening. The conflict between Israel and Iran and the PKK relationship...

Iran gained great power through the Shiites after 2003. It extended to the Mediterranean. Now Israel is trying to prevent Iran from reaching the Mediterranean, but it cannot achieve this by land.

How can this be prevented? There is an American structure in Jordan, but it is insufficient; the YPG needs to move down, and for this, Turkey's pressure on the YPG must be lifted...

Turkey's economic failures, their bringing back Mehmet Şimşek... When you look at the interest rates given, we are giving 24 percent interest, while Russia, which is at war, is giving 16 percent, yet money cannot be found. In this situation, the AKP is constantly going downhill.

Now the agenda is constitutional change; with this change, they want to attract the DEM mass to their side as support.

What are we talking about with Greece in the Eastern Mediterranean? What are we talking about with a country that is not even there? Why is Turkey, which has already passed the two-state solution in Cyprus through the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), now meeting with the Greeks again at an informal United Nations dinner and restarting a federation-based discussion?

These are all maneuvers made to change the agenda and prevent the AKP's bad course.

I do not think Erdoğan sees Israel as a danger. I was in Mersin two days ago and spoke with captains, and they said that trade is continuing.

A Turkish firm produces artillery shells in America, and these shells go to Israel and Ukraine. So, is Turkey trading with Israel? Of course they are... Let no one explain this by saying we are trading with Palestine.

DO YOU SEE NORMALIZATION, THE OPENING, AS A RISK?

Erdoğan named it normalization; he is also admitting that the previous situation was abnormal. Erdoğan was also responsible for the situation being abnormal.

There will be a constitutional change; a group of people advocates for the constitution to remain within the parliamentary system. Erdoğan wants the presidential regime.

Erdoğan insulted those who want a parliamentary system. He ruled by dividing and making the society an enemy for years. Now, suddenly, the 'internal front' has become important.

I have been writing and saying that the internal front is important since 2019. I said that divisive attitudes are wrong.

SO WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Let us unite, but let us not make a constitutional change. Turkey returning to the parliamentary system is a necessity for this country... Whoever becomes President with these powers will experience deterioration.

The current normalization is Erdoğan's normalization... His approach to normalization is very remarkable; it is a political tactic. The environment is extremely bad; to prevent the main opposition from raising its voice sharply, Erdoğan says 'come, let's normalize'.

ABOUT THE ISRAEL THREAT...

The Israeli threat has already been at our borders for years with the YPG and PKK. The division of Iran and Syria is a Middle East policy.

Following such divisions, control will pass to China. The PKK is a communist party, and its natural ally will be China.

It may be working with the US right now, but in the final analysis, it will be China's gateway to the Mediterranean. That is why when Erdoğan comes out and says 'Israeli threat'... I say good morning...

The Ministry of Finance has a project to bring fuel smuggling under control; a computer program will be installed, and the firm that will do this is an Israeli firm...

Were these risks not present when Erdoğan was making agreements with Israel?

Israel has made significant land purchases in Cyprus over the years, and these happened during the AKP government period. We have been warning about this for years.

THE SECOND OPENING PROCESS...

You will not take steps for the formation of Kurdistan, which is an Israeli project; you will not bring amnesty to PKK chiefs; you will not do the things Öcalan wants...

In exchange for what will the PKK dissolve itself? I ask this too.

Claw-Lock is a correct operation, but it is not yet a completed operation... It is a very difficult operation.

The area where the PKK has focused its attention is the state-building process in Syria, and they want to continue this. They are very uncomfortable with Claw-Lock...

Thinking about ensuring communication with Baghdad is a good step.
