Özel reacts to appointment of trustee to TELE1: You cannot silence this nation
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel reacted on his social media account to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's appointment of the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) as a management trustee to TELE1 Television.

Regarding the appointment of a trustee to Tele1 Television, Özel said, "We stand with the employees of TELE1. I am addressing the coup-plotters who try to spread fear by targeting politics, civil society, the business and arts world, and the media, telling everyone, 'Your turn will come one day.' Even if you silence TELE1, you cannot silence this nation. No matter what you do, you cannot prevail over the nation."

"Accusing Merdan Yanardağ based on a nonsensical claim like espionage and appointing a trustee to TELE1 is exactly the kind of thing this government would do. TELE1 has become a target of the March 19 Coup-plotters because it reports the truth and refutes slanders with facts. Censoring the media it cannot control is a complete coup-plotter reflex.
