The Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance has decided to cancel the CHP Istanbul Provincial Congress held on October 8, 2023.
In accordance with the court decision, CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik and his administration were removed from office.
Additionally, 196 delegates were suspended from their duties as a precautionary measure, and the congress process was halted.
Following the decision, the court appointed a trustee committee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Headquarters.
The appointment of former deputy Gürsel Tekin as the trustee drew attention.
