Özgür Özel addresses Bahçeli's call for Öcalan: 'Erdoğan must make a statement'

The CHP's 'Right to Life' rally in Beşiktaş has begun. CHP leader Özgür Özel made statements at the rally. Recalling MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's call regarding PKK leader Öcalan, Özel criticized President Erdoğan, stating, 'Bahçeli has initiated the People's Alliance's secret peace process.'

The Republican People's Party (CHP) held a rally for the right to life at Beşiktaş Barbaros Square. CHP's Istanbul organizations gathered at the venue for the 14:30 rally, where extensive security measures were in place.

CHP leader Özgür Özel made statements at the rally.

Özgür Özel's statements are as follows:

We have come to challenge the violence that has taken hold of every aspect of life. Our country has been the target of many terrorist organizations, primarily the PKK, for 40 years.

The Republic of Turkey stands tall in its 101st year. It will not support terrorism.

Whoever wishes to stand in the way of this nation, the greatest force against them is the Republican People's Party.

This government cannot protect its citizens. Children, even newborns, are not safe.

The person who withdrew from the Istanbul Convention—which was accepted by unanimous vote in Parliament—with a single signature is the person who pulled the state out from behind women; he is responsible before history.

The government is knowingly failing to solve the housing problem. By not solving this problem, they have thrown our children into the arms of religious sects.

We all saw what those who recognize their own hierarchy rather than the state did to the nation and the state on July 15. You never know when such people will emerge against the nation and the state.

HE IS RESPONSIBLE: ERDOĞAN

Speaking about the 'newborn gang' scandal, Özel targeted Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu. Reminding the crowd that Memişoğlu was the provincial health director at the time, Özel said that the person who appoints every minister responsible for this is Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Chants of "Government resign" were heard at the rally.

 

ERDOĞAN MUST MAKE A STATEMENT TO THIS NATION

Addressing MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's call regarding Öcalan during his group meeting, Özel stated that Erdoğan must make a statement, saying:

''Mr. Devlet is pointing to Abdullah Öcalan as an address. The proposal is Bahçeli's proposal. He has initiated the People's Alliance's secret peace process. We are astonished that Erdoğan has not said a single word about this issue. Erdoğan must make a statement to this nation. Erdoğan, say whatever it is you have to say.''
