Özgür Özel announces CHP's 2025 action plan: 'If we cannot bring the ballot box...'
Speaking about his party's 2025 action plan, CHP leader Özgür Özel said, "In 2025, we will fight with the slogan 'If there is no livelihood, there will be an election.' We will fight to bring the ballot box. If we cannot bring it, we will make the streets, the squares, and the year 2025 unbearable for the AK Party."

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel made statements regarding the current agenda.
Reacting to the minimum wage set at 22,104 TL with a 30 percent "misery raise," Özel drew attention to pension payments.
"IF THEY DO THIS TO THE MINIMUM WAGE EARNER, WHAT WON'T THEY DO TO THE RETIREE?"
Visiting local markets, Özel relayed that a retiree told him, "Mr. Özgür, if they do this to the minimum wage earner, what won't they do to us? We cannot make ends meet with 12,500 TL either. They won't give us a wage we can live on, either."
Speaking to Sözcü columnist Saygı Öztürk, Özel explained his party's 2025 action plan.
Stating that they would make 2025 unbearable for the government, Özel noted that they would push for an additional raise to the minimum wage in July.
"THE MINIMUM WAGE MUST BE INCREASED AT THE END OF MARCH AND IN JULY"
Saying, "Since 2025 cannot be a year of livelihood, it could be an election year," Özel continued:
"Of course, we cannot bring about an election on our own; I am not necessarily saying 'we will hold an election in 2025,' but we will push for a few things in 2025. For example, we have to push for a raise in July, at the very least, as they promised for the minimum wage.
The right thing is this: Because the raise was so small, we must push for the minimum wage to be increased with raises at the end of March and in July."
"IF WE CANNOT BRING THE BALLOT BOX, WE WILL MAKE 2025 UNBEARABLE FOR THE AK PARTY"
Emphasizing that they will be on the streets and in the squares in 2025, Özel said they would fight to bring the ballot box.
Özel stated the following:
"We have low-income retirees. We will continue to fight regarding the salaries of civil servant and worker retirees. 2025 will definitely be a year of struggle against this poverty and these government policies that make the laborer pay the entire price of the crisis. We will be on the streets and in the squares. We will board worker shuttles, we will be in front of factories, in fields, in coffeehouses, in villages, in cities; we will be with the people everywhere. We will not leave a single province unvisited or a single place untrodden. In 2025, we will fight with the slogan 'If there is no livelihood, there will be an election.' We will fight to bring the ballot box. If we cannot bring it, we will make the streets unbearable for the AK Party, we will make the squares unbearable, we will make 2025 unbearable for them."
