Özgür Özel asked Sırrı Süreyya Önder about 'secret deal' and 'constitutional bargaining' claims
Speaking on the dissolution statement by the terrorist organization PKK, CHP leader Özgür Özel called on Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, stating that a commission should be established in Parliament. Noting that families of martyrs should also be included in the commission, Özel recounted a conversation he had with the late Sırrı Süreyya Önder regarding claims of a 'secret deal' and 'constitutional bargaining' related to the new peace process. Addressing the architect of the process, MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, Özel said, "I am not a politician who will change direction by 180 degrees just because someone presses a button. We are not politicians who are controlled or who turn 180 degrees by the press of a button. Today, Devlet Bahçeli is such a politician." Regarding the terrorist organization's statement targeting the Treaty of Lausanne, he commented, "The nation knows that the state knows that statement, which was drafted by Abdullah Öcalan and whose congress was held, line by line, and that it would not be announced without the state's knowledge. If Abdullah Öcalan's initials are at the bottom of that statement, then Devlet Bahçeli and Erdoğan's signatures are there."

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel spoke on the program "Çalar Saat" with İlker Karagöz on NOW TV.
Özel made important statements regarding the new peace process, which is continuing with the terrorist organization PKK's decision to lay down arms and dissolve.
Pointing to Parliament, Özel said, "What we are saying today is this; this matter must be conducted without excluding anyone, and the place for this is Parliament. A commission should be established, and this commission should make the legal arrangements. If a social consensus is to be sought, other families of martyrs and those who have been harmed by this process must be included in the table and commissions to be established in Parliament, and their consent must be obtained."
Özel continued as follows:
"I had said, 'We must not be involved in anything where we cannot look the families of martyrs in the eye.' Sırrı Süreyya Önder had said, 'Sometimes you cannot look a martyr's mother in the eye today, but one day, when her other child is alive, they will look you in the eye and come and embrace you.'"
"Let this matter be resolved with social consensus today; all of Turkey will benefit from this. The wrong calculation here is this; there is a festive atmosphere in the pro-government media, as if they have their own heroes of the issue. My brother, after this issue succeeds, the nation will appreciate whoever it wants, but let no mistakes be made through perception operations. Of course, negotiations have been held before; there is nothing more normal than this, but today, from the very first day that it is announced that weapons will be laid down, we are trying to button the first button wrong. These are wrong!"
"The framework we have drawn is that it would be appropriate for the Parliament Speaker to take the initiative; a preparatory commission must definitely be invited, and everyone should have a seat and their opinions should be taken. We have a 10-person commission."
'SECRET DEAL, CONSTITUTIONAL BARGAINING' CLAIMS
While debates on transparency regarding the new peace process continue in the public eye, claims of a secret deal with the terrorist organization and constitutional bargaining with the DEM Party also maintain their place on the agenda. Speaking on the subject, CHP leader Özel said, "When I asked Mr. Sırrı, he said, 'Instead of asking us about a secret deal or constitutional bargaining, curse them.' I cannot say anything where the late [Sırrı Süreyya Önder] had a clear atonement, but if it happens, we will not be there tomorrow."
Özel continued his words as follows:
"We have sincere feelings towards the nation; we practice organic politics. There are minor changes in attitude in politics. Calling what you called white, black is something else. These inconsistencies also reveal an insecure situation for the future. You look and see, in whose hands is Turkey's foreign policy and external security? How do you know that they will not press another button and cause a drift in what they are doing today? Turkey could experience such a thing. That is why we look to ourselves."
'180 DEGREES' DIG AT BAHÇELİ
We say that a constitution cannot be made with those who do not comply with the current constitution. Secondly, sir, they say a decision was made somewhere, there is a deep state, they pressed the button, and the state does whatever Devlet Bey says, etc. I am not part of such an inorganic politician. I am not a politician who will change direction by 180 degrees just because someone presses a button. Instead of doing that, I would quit politics; instead of doing that, I would give up everything, but I would not give up what I know to be right. We are not politicians who are controlled or who turn 180 degrees by the press of a button. Today, Devlet Bahçeli is such a politician.
HARSH REACTION TO 'LAUSANNE' AND 'GENOCIDE' REMARKS
In our statement yesterday, we reminded [everyone] of the importance we attach to Lausanne. However, no one can make me a party to a declaration of a terrorist organization that has committed terrorism for 45 years, has targeted the soldiers of the Republic of Turkey, the founding party of our title deed, Turkey. There are two addressees of this declaration; Mr. Bahçeli and Mr. Erdoğan. That declaration is not a declaration that can be announced without the approval of the National Intelligence Organization; they are negotiating the words. From the day that congress ended...
If the Republic of Turkey can be mentioned alongside genocide in a process negotiated word by word, if Lausanne can be criticized, those who are in this partnership will answer for it. We are the party that took that title deed from Lausanne by force. Now, let those who do not speak out against this entering the text as a result of their negotiations with the terrorist organization while they hold the government that is entrusted with that title deed be asked.
"IF ÖCALAN'S INITIALS ARE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE STATEMENT, ERDOĞAN AND BAHÇELİ'S SIGNATURES ARE THERE"
The nation knows that the state knows that statement, which was founded by Abdullah Öcalan and whose congress was held, line by line, and that it would not be announced without the state's knowledge. If Abdullah Öcalan's initials are at the bottom of that statement, then Devlet Bahçeli and Erdoğan's signatures are there.
"THEY CANNOT OPERATE A CONSTITUTIONAL PROCESS DESPITE US"
They cannot operate a new constitutional process from now on. The Republican People's Party is stating its position very clearly. They cannot operate a constitutional process here despite us. We are here; we are both the guarantor of peace and the guarantor of the indivisible integrity of Turkey.
When we passed through such times, they planned a coup among themselves one morning. Just as we repelled that coup, when they try to do something that defies this country despite the CHP tomorrow, when they attempt a coup that day, those who are so confident in themselves will taste the power of the Republican People's Party and this nation from a completely different place if they attempt to do such a thing. That is a different matter. Let them come to their senses. If we are going to end terrorism, we will do it together by sitting on the floor of Parliament, discussing it with legal regulations, and defending democracy, freedom, and the right to a fair trial for everyone in Turkey, not just for one person, and by conducting this work in transparency. We are the guarantee of the indivisible integrity of this country. Where we are not present, a healthy process of secret bargains and horse-trading cannot function. Everyone will come to their senses!"
