Özgür Özel's 'Gezi' challenge to Erdoğan! 'If you have any dignity...'
Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ visited CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. Following the meeting, the two leaders held a press conference. CHP leader Özel addressed AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding the footage of the operation against the Manavgat Municipality. Özel stated, "I will publish it along with the Manavgat indictment. If I publish it now, you will write the indictment based on the footage," and challenged Erdoğan by reminding him of the Gezi protests, saying, "If you have any dignity, release the footage from Gezi."

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel hosted Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ at the CHP Headquarters. Speaking at a press conference after the meeting, Özel said, "We will hold a rally against the appointed trustees at 5:00 PM this evening, declaring 'politics, not tutelage.' We began the day with a solidarity visit from the esteemed Chairman of the Zafer Party, Ümit Özdağ, and his valuable delegation."
"POLITICAL ENGINEERING AND A PLOT ARE IN MOTION"
Responding to journalists' questions, Özel reacted sharply to Erdoğan's statements regarding the CHP:
"Citizens know that everything happening here is a result of the political engineering put forward by the AK Party and the plot they have prepared. Yesterday, our Bayrampaşa Mayor was detained. We know that he was previously offered, 'If you join the AK Party, we can stop the operation.' He was detained because he did not accept these invitations. In Gaziosmanpaşa, the majority was held by the AK Party and the MHP, yet our CHP mayor was arrested. Afterward, they seated their own chosen deputy mayor in the chair, saying, 'We have taken Gaziosmanpaşa.'"
"WE ARE UNDER A COMPREHENSIVE SIEGE"
Touching upon the events involving the Beykoz Municipality, Özel said:
"We saw that the deputy mayor who told us, 'The mayor will switch to the AK Party,' joined the AK Party yesterday. The only basis for those who appointed a trustee to the Republican People's Party's Istanbul Provincial Congress was an audio recording. One of the people speaking in that recording switched to the AK Party, and the other is a person who engages in black propaganda against the CHP. We are facing a comprehensive siege."
CALL TO ERDOĞAN FOR "GEZI FOOTAGE"
Özel issued a call to Erdoğan regarding the Manavgat operation:
"He tells me, 'There was 32 hours of footage.' Our friends have revealed how this scene was staged. Now I am telling Mr. Erdoğan: I challenge you. I will publish it along with the Manavgat indictment. But ever since you said, 'I will publish it on Friday,' ever since the Gezi protests, you have not shown even once the footage you claimed showed 'they attacked my veiled sister at the Kabataş Pier.' If you have any dignity, release the footage from Gezi. It has not been one Friday, but 620 Fridays since then."
