Özgür Özel's first response to Kılıçdaroğlu's call for purification: 'Intra-party coup plotters'

Özel responded to the words of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who shared a video today. Özel stated, "My words were directed at those who would be marble in the palace. I am challenging the intra-party coup plotters. I would be surprised if Mr. Kemal showed sensitivity to this."

"MARBLE" POLEMIC BETWEEN CURRENT AND FORMER LEADER

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had used the phrase, "Instead of being marble in the palace, be soil so that roses may grow in your bosom," during his party's parliamentary group meeting three weeks ago, in reference to discussions regarding lawsuits demanding "absolute nullity."

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu responded to these words from Özgür Özel in a video he published on his social media account today, saying, "It will become soil a thousand times and bloom a thousand times; in the hands of its honest and upright children, but it will not bend or break."

"I AM CHALLENGING INTRA-PARTY COUP PLOTTERS"

Özel addressed Kılıçdaroğlu's statements in an interview with Gazete Pencere.

Regarding Kılıçdaroğlu's statement, Özgür Özel said, "My words were directed at those who would be marble in the palace. Not at Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. That remark is a challenge to an alliance. And that alliance is this: the March 19 coup plotters and the intra-party coup plotters. I am challenging the 'Aktoroslar' gang and the 'Nullity' alliance, the March 19 coup plotters and the intra-party coup plotters. I am speaking out against those who have not digested the party convention results and those who have not digested the March 31, 2024 election results."

"I WOULD BE SURPRISED IF MR. KEMAL SHOWED SENSITIVITY"

Özgür Özel also stated that he had not heard Kılıçdaroğlu say, "I will come back with a court order," adding, "I haven't heard it, but if I did, I wouldn't think it suits him. I would be surprised if Mr. Kemal showed sensitivity to the things I said about those who hope for help from the Palace."

"I WOULD EXPECT HIM NOT TO SHOW SENSITIVITY"

Özel said, "I would expect him to define himself in a position that would not show that sensitivity. I hope that Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu will say, 'Do not expect me to make a statement against the current management of the CHP.'"
