Özgür Özel gives a sharp response to an ATV reporter's question

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel answered a question from an ATV reporter in the hallway following the parliamentary group meeting.

"INSTEAD OF BEING ASHAMED AND APOLOGIZING..."

Özel responded to ATV's question about 'controversial appointments' by saying, "Instead of being ashamed and apologizing, you are reporting lies. What will you say about the AK Party's thousands of appointments?"

Özel's statement is as follows:

ATV asks, 'What happened to the appointments in the municipality?' I am the primary follower of the circular. There is not a single appointment of a spouse, friend, or relative in the CHP. Thousands have been continuing in AK Party municipalities for years. If ATV wants to, let them investigate this. Let ATV report on these instead. You are reporting lies. Let them check whether the advisors of the AKP's Manisa deputies have been advisors at the Yunus Emre Municipality for 10 years or not. Let them check whether they are 'ATM employees' (ghost employees) or not.

They haven't been able to investigate this truth; let them go and look at their own deputies. There is not a single relative appointment left in the CHP. Those who smear the personal rights of those who have been civil servants in that municipality for 6 years do not make any explanation instead of apologizing. The CHP is a clean slate; if there is even one dot, it shows the dirt. Now, let them go to ATV and ask which AK Party deputy's advisor has been receiving a salary from the Yunus Emre Municipality for ten years.
