CHP Chairman Özgür Özel appeared before the cameras alongside Memleket Party Chairman Muharrem İnce. After accepting condolences in Manisa following the death of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, who lost his battle for life after being electrocuted in recent days, Özel said, "According to our original schedule, we were going to visit the Memleket Party today to meet with Muharrem İnce. However, since all programs were canceled due to the passing of our Mayor Ferdi, we met here. We will now visit his grave. Today, we performed the prayer alongside Memleket Party Chairman Muharrem İnce and our former minister Muharrem Kasap. Both are here to offer their condolences. We thank both of them separately."

Thanking members of the press for closely following Zeyrek's situation for days, Özel said, "You conveyed Manisa's mourning to Turkey. You put in great effort. You worked with us day and night. Thank you for your hard work."

Speaking about the attack Israel launched on Iran, Özel said, "We condemn the deranged Israel's attack on Iran in clear and absolute terms. We invite both sides to peace."

'ABANDON THESE ENCOURAGING ATTITUDES IMMEDIATELY'

Reacting to the government, Özel used the following expressions:

"We condemn the deranged Israel's attack on Iran in clear and absolute terms. We invite both sides to peace. We also want Turkey to abandon its encouraging attitudes toward Israel immediately. They forcibly released those on the Madleen ship. We are pleased with the rescue of the two Turkish citizens there. There is no excusable side to anyone who lost their life in Palestine, nor to the civilians who died or were injured in the attacks on Iran yesterday. We condemn Israel in the strongest terms and expect a firm stance from the government. If they stand tall against Israel, they will find us by their side. The Palestinian issue is Turkey's national issue. I invite the Republic of Turkey to act accordingly."
