Özgür Özel in the AKP stronghold: 'We will share news that will drop like a bombshell on the agenda'

Kayseri became the 75th stop for the 'Standing Up for the National Will' rallies organized by the CHP for the release of Ekrem İmamoğlu and for early elections. Before the rally in Kayseri, known as an AKP stronghold, posters hung in the city were removed by municipal police yesterday.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel entered the rally area at 1:00 PM with a truck containing 25 million signatures collected for the CHP's presidential candidate, Ekrem İmamoğlu.

CHP Kayseri Provincial Chairman Ümit Özer read a message from İmamoğlu, who is currently detained in Silivri Prison, before the rally.

“The people of Kayseri with rich hearts and free consciences… My beautiful citizens… Dear ladies and gentlemen, dear youth, precious children… I greet you with love and respect. I embrace each of you with longing and yearning. Welcome. We have everything to become one of the richest, happiest, and freest countries in the world.

But it is not enough. Because if there is no justice, there is no abundance or prosperity, and peace and happiness will not come. This government, which has lost its conscience, energy, and qualified staff; no longer produces service or action, only injustice. In every field it touches, in every job, it unfairly protects and favors some while victimizing the nation. It adds wealth to the wealth of some and adds trouble to the troubles of the nation.”

“IT DOES NOT EVEN ALLOW THE COURTS TO DISPENSE JUSTICE”

“This government, which produces injustice in every field, does not even allow the courts to dispense justice. In all 9 of the cases I am being tried in, the judges were exiled to other courts and other cities. The government, which tramples on the law; does not stop at anything against honorable members of the judiciary so that judges and prosecutors do not feel secure and courts remain under the government's command.

A handful of seat-addicts are doing all kinds of evil to keep a one-man regime alive where the 'government's law and the government's institutions' prevail, not the rule of law, and where the national will is ignored. They are trying to force everyone they see as an obstacle on this path to bow down through bullying, blackmail, and conspiracies.”

We did not come to hold a political party rally, but to take refuge in the conscience of Kayseri, to say rights, law, and justice; we came to this square to make heard the voices of the 27 million people who elected them, whose will is imprisoned today even though they were elected with the lawful votes of this nation, the voices of those who worked for years, retired and were left in misery, those whose labor was exploited, the farmers who were crushed under credit interest while they were the masters of the nation, and the tradesmen who were miserable while the nation was in this state; we did not come to hold a rally, we came to take action.

"PARLIAMENT IS NOW ON THE STREET, IN THE SQUARE"

First of all, let's say this, today is Saturday but Parliament is open. Budget negotiations are being held there. I was there on the first day for the budget negotiations. They brought a budget that has a 2.7 trillion deficit from the first day. A budget that gives a misery salary of 16,800 liras, ignores the retiree, crushes the laborer below the hunger limit with a 22,000 lira minimum wage, does not hear their voice, does not see or hear the farmer, the tradesman, or the youth. This year, the property of farmers who cannot pay their debts will fall into the hands of banks. In 2025, 1300 tradesmen have gone bankrupt in a place like Kayseri. Mr. Erdoğan came a few days before the elections and made promises to the tradesmen in Kayseri. We will lower retirement to 7200 days, they still haven't made any improvements.

Promises made to tradesmen for years are not kept. We gave 20 of our children as martyrs on the return from Azerbaijan. 10 of these children were our children working at the main jet base in Kayseri. When we visited there once again, we saw once again what a great nation, what a beautiful army, and what shining soldiers they are. May Turkey's condolences be accepted for our Kayseri and our nation. May God not let us experience such great pains again. "THE SECOND HIGHEST INTEREST RATE IN THE WORLD IS IN THIS COUNTRY"

We have been experiencing a chronic economic crisis since 2018. The ruling party has received many votes in this city, it is very strong.
