Reminding that the local court did not comply with the previous violation ruling, Özel thanked the members of the Constitutional Court in a statement made via his social media account.

Emphasizing that Kahraman has been imprisoned for four years, Özel stated that he should be reunited with his wife Meriç and daughter Vera, and used the following expressions:

"The Constitutional Court had previously ruled that the rights of our colleague Tayfun Kahraman, who has been imprisoned for 4 years in our place, were violated. But the court did not comply with this decision, which is binding for all institutions.

The Constitutional Court has once again issued a ruling of rights violation, and unanimously at that. I thank all the members and we are waiting for the decision to be published in the Official Gazette.

In other words, the debate is now over. Tayfun Kahraman must be released as soon as possible.

Meriç must be reunited with her husband, Vera with her father, and this country with its honest son. Turkey is a constitutional state. The Constitutional Court's decision must be implemented immediately!"
