Özgür Özel to take the CHP podium for the last time: The first step for a NEW Party

Following the absolute nullity decision regarding the CHP, the first concrete step regarding the words of CHP's elected Chairman Özgür Özel, who has prepared a new roadmap and previously stated, "We will either find a way or we will open a way," is being taken on Monday, July 27. The founding petition for the party to be established under Özel's leadership will be submitted to the Ministry of Interior on Monday.

The decision of absolute nullity regarding the cancellation of the CHP's 38th Grand Assembly and the party administration, issued by the 36th Civil Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice, reached the Court of Cassation on Friday, July 17, 56 days after it was issued. Since the Court of Cassation did not review the file before the judicial recess that began today, the efforts of CHP's elected leader Özgür Özel and the deputies supporting him for a new party have gained clarity. 

It has been learned that the name of the party will be "New Party" and that the Founders' Board, which will take part in the establishment phase, will consist primarily of members of parliament. 

ÖZEL WILL SPEAK AT THE CHP GROUP MEETING FOR THE LAST TIME TOMORROW

Before the establishment process, Özgür Özel is expected to take the podium as the CHP leader for the last time at the CHP Group Meeting to be held tomorrow. In his speech, Özel is expected to evaluate the process experienced following the absolute nullity decision and give messages regarding the new era.

In his statements following the absolute nullity decision, Özel stated that they would continue the struggle and had signaled that a party would be established by saying, "We will either open a way or we will find a way." Party sources evaluate that with the submission of the founding petition, the political equivalent of this rhetoric will have been brought to life.

NUMEROUS MEETINGS WILL BE HELD

Özel is also expected to hold a series of meetings this week for the new party. After the weekly group meeting on Tuesday, July 21, Özel will meet with the elected CHP provincial chairmen; on Wednesday, July 22, he will chair the Party Assembly (PM) and Central Executive Board (MYK) meetings. Özel is also expected to meet with his party's deputies this week. Following the establishment of the new party, a large-scale transition process will take place in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). It is stated that at least 70 deputies are expected to join the new party in the first stage.
