Özlem Çerçioğlu's deputy mayors elected from CHP by unanimous vote: Her joining the AKP was debated for a long time

In the deputy mayoral elections held at the municipal council presided over by Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu, who joined the AKP, the candidates nominated by the CHP were elected.

The April ordinary council meeting of the Aydın Metropolitan Municipality was held under the chairmanship of Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Polat Bora Mersin.

In the meeting where a total of 38 agenda items were discussed, elections were held for commission memberships.

All memberships were accepted by unanimous vote.

As a result of the voting, CHP member Salim Tümer Apaydın was elected as the first deputy of the Aydın Metropolitan Municipal Council, and Yiğit Menderes, also from the CHP, was elected as the second deputy.

CHP members Ayşe Özdemir, Tuba Dinçer, Derya Oktay, and Raziye Akıncıoğlu, along with Yasemin Gürsoy from the AKP, were elected as secretaries of the Aydın Metropolitan Municipal Council, while CHP members Hayatı Atlı, Yiğit Menderes, Celalletin Erol, and Kadir Mutlu, along with AKP member Hüseyin Işık, were elected as committee members.

All elections were accepted by the unanimous vote of the council members.

Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu had resigned from the CHP and joined the AKP.
