Painful news of the martyrs reaches their family homes: Cause of the crash not yet determined

The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) announced that a C-130 cargo plane belonging to the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), which had taken off from Azerbaijan to come to Turkey and was carrying 20 personnel including the flight crew, has crashed in Georgia.

The cause of the crash, which is not yet known, occurred after the plane took off from Turkey at 09:50 and first landed in the Azerbaijani city of Ganja at 11:06.

After waiting there for a while, the plane took off from Ganja at 13:20 to return to Turkey and disappeared from radar 27 minutes after takeoff.

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that the wreckage of the military cargo plane that crashed in Georgia was reached at 17:00. The area where the wreckage was found has been cordoned off for security. Authorities are currently only allowing security units and rescue teams affiliated with the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs to enter the scene.

Search and rescue teams are struggling to continue their work due to the difficult terrain and poor weather conditions. Local sources reported that the wreckage of the plane was scattered on the steep slopes near the Xolagiri Monastery and that the wreckage was first noticed by local residents.

While the whole country was waiting for good news, the fire of martyrdom began to fall on family homes one by one. While no official statement has been made yet, the painful news was delivered to the families of the fallen military personnel.

9 OF THE MARTYRS WERE STATIONED IN KAYSERI

In the plane with 20 personnel, 9 personnel stationed at the 12th Air Transportation Main Base Command in Kayseri were martyred.

The martyred personnel were identified as: Air Pilot Major Serdar Uslu, Air Pilot Major Nihat İlgen, Air Pilot First Lieutenant Cüneyt Kandemir, Air Aircraft Maintenance Senior Master Sergeant Nuri Özcan, Air Aircraft Maintenance Senior Master Sergeant Ümit İnce, Air Aircraft Maintenance Master Sergeant Burak Özkan, Air Aircraft Maintenance Master Sergeant Emrah Kuran, Air Aircraft Maintenance Master Sergeant Emre Altıok, and Air Aircraft Maintenance Master Sergeant Burak İbbiği.

BILECIK

One of the 20 personnel on the plane, Air Aircraft Maintenance Sergeant Major İlhan Ongan from Bilecik, was martyred. The painful news was delivered to the martyr's father, Ali Ongan, and mother, Hatice Ongan, who live on Güllü Street in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood. Deputy Governor Akgün Cora and Deputy Mayor of Bilecik Sabri Çobanoğlu informed the family that their son had been martyred. Upon receiving the painful news, the Ongan family was overcome with grief. Loved ones and relatives flocked to the martyr's home.

KARABUK

The news of the martyrdom of Air Aircraft Maintenance Senior Master Sergeant Nuri Özcan (53), who was martyred on the cargo plane, reached his family in his hometown of Karabük. The news of Martyr Özcan's martyrdom was delivered to his mother, Şamiye Özcan, and father, Mehmet Özcan, who were at the Karabük Training and Research Hospital, by Karabük Deputy Governor Mustafa Şahin and military officials. Following the painful news, a Turkish flag was hung on the family home on Atlıhan Street in the Şirinevler neighborhood by the Karabük Municipality Fire Department teams. It was learned that Özcan was married and a father of 2 children.

ISTANBUL

The news of the martyrdom of Pilot Lieutenant Colonel Gökhan Korkmaz reached his family in Büyükçekmece, Istanbul. The news of Pilot Lieutenant Colonel Korkmaz's martyrdom was delivered to his family by officials from the Istanbul Central Command. After the news arrived, the martyr's family was overcome with grief, and Turkish flags were hung on their home. Relatives and loved ones flocked to the complex where the martyr's home is located.

ESKISEHIR

27-year-old Air Aircraft Maintenance First Lieutenant Emre Mercan from Eskişehir, who was on the plane that crashed in Georgia, was martyred. The painful news reached his family home on Erensoy Street in the Emek neighborhood. Military personnel informed his father, Halil İbrahim Mercan, and mother, Ayşe Mercan, of his martyrdom. Relatives who received the painful news also flocked to the front of the apartment building. A giant Turkish flag was hung on the family home.

TEKIRDAG

The news of the martyrdom of Air Sergeant İlker Aykut, who was among the personnel on the military cargo plane, reached his family in the Muratlı district of Tekirdağ. The news of Air Sergeant İlker Aykut's martyrdom was delivered to his family by the Muratlı District Governorship and military officials. While his father, Ünal Aykut, and mother, Zülbiye Aykut, were devastated, neighborhood residents and relatives flocked to the martyr's family home to convey their condolences.

LULEBURGAZ

Air Force personnel Berkay Karaca was martyred as a result of the crash of the C-130 type military cargo plane. The painful news reached the martyr's family in the 8 Kasım neighborhood of the Lüleburgaz district. The Karaca family, who received the news that their son had been martyred from military officials, was overcome with grief. District Governor Kemal Yıldız, Lüleburgaz Garrison Commander Brigadier General Ali Aydın Torun, and District Police Chief Murat Karayılan paid a condolence visit to the martyr's home. Fire fell on the family home of martyred Air Force personnel Sergeant Emrah Kuran in the Ekinambarı neighborhood of the Milas district of Muğla. It was learned that Sergeant Emrah Kuran, who served in the Kayseri Airborne Brigade, was married and a father of two children, and a Turkish flag was hung on the martyr's family home.

The painful news reached the family home of Air Supply Sergeant Major Ahmet Yasir Kuyucu in Selçuklu, Konya. It was learned that 25-year-old Kuyucu was married, his wife lived in the Merzifon district of Amasya, and his brother served as a police officer in Konya. While a Turkish flag was hung on the street where the martyr's house is located, there was great sadness in the neighborhood.

SAKARYA

As a result of the crash of the C-130 type military cargo plane, Air Aircraft Maintenance Master Sergeant Akın Karakuş from Sakarya was martyred. The painful news was delivered to the family of the martyr Karakuş, who served at the Merzifon Air Base. It was learned that Martyr Akın Karakuş's mother and father were in Gümüşhane and received the news of his martyrdom there. CORUM

Air Aircraft Maintenance Third Class Sergeant Burak İbbiği from Çorum was martyred. As a result of the crash of the Turkish Air Force's C-130 type military cargo plane, which had taken off from Azerbaijan to come to Turkey, on the Georgia-Azerbaijan border, Air Force personnel Air Aircraft Maintenance Third Class Sergeant Burak İbbiği was martyred. One of the 20 personnel on the plane, Air Aircraft Maintenance Master Sergeant Akın Karakuş from Sakarya, who served in Merzifon, was martyred. While it was learned that his mother and father were visiting in Gümüşhane and received the news of their son's martyrdom there, information was provided to his relatives on Aslan Street in the Vatan neighborhood of the Serdivan district of Sakarya. Upon being notified, the martyr's older brother and brother-in-law set off for Merzifon, Amasya. While loved ones and relatives flocked to the martyr's home, a Turkish flag was hung.

BALIKESIR

The news of the martyrdom of Air Specialist Sergeant Emre Sayın (40), who was martyred as a result of the military cargo plane crash on the Georgian border, was delivered to his family in Balıkesir. The painful news was delivered to the martyr's family living in Balıkesir. It was learned that the martyr's mother was in Merzifon and his father set off for Merzifon upon receiving the painful news. It was learned that Martyr Sayın was married.
