Parked truck crashes into 11 vehicles

In Istanbul's Esenyurt district, a parked truck slid down a hill and struck 11 vehicles. The truck then crashed into a pita shop. The accident was captured on security cameras.

In Istanbul's Esenyurt district, a parked truck slid down a hill on 1953rd Street in the Mehterçeşme neighborhood during the evening hours.

According to the information obtained, Halil İmat parked his truck with license plate 34 NOF 10 on the street and got out of the vehicle. A few seconds later, the truck began to slide down the hill.

11 VEHICLES AND 1 PITA SHOP

The truck, which hit 4 moving vehicles and 7 parked vehicles, crashed into a pita shop on the street. While damage occurred to the vehicles and the shop, there were no deaths or injuries in the incident.

Upon notification, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Due to the accident, traffic on the street was temporarily suspended in a controlled manner by police teams.

CAPTURED ON SECURITY CAMERAS

While the damaged vehicles and the truck that crashed into the shop were removed from the scene by tow trucks, police teams launched an investigation. The accident was also reflected on the security cameras of nearby businesses.

Truck driver Halil İmat said, “I parked the car, and suddenly the handbrake failed. There were some materials belonging to a friend in the vehicle. While I was unloading them, the handbrake failed and this happened. The vehicle was not loaded. I have never experienced anything like this before. I am fine, I only have minor scratches.”
