Parliament Speaker Kurtulmuş has called the Grand National Assembly to an extraordinary session on August 29 to be briefed on Israel's attacks on Gaza, its policies of genocide, oppression, and famine.

The following statement was issued by the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM):
"Our Parliament Speaker, Mr. Numan Kurtulmuş, has called the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye to an extraordinary session on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 14:00, in accordance with Article 93 of the Constitution and Article 7 of the Rules of Procedure of the TBMM, in order to fulfill the request of the Executive branch under the second paragraph of Article 59 of the Rules of Procedure of the TBMM, to brief the Assembly on Israel's attacks on Gaza, the genocide and oppression it has committed against the Palestinian people, its policies of famine, and the current situation in the region.
In this context, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Hakan Fidan will brief the General Assembly of the TBMM during the extraordinary session."
