In recent days, the Constitutional Court ruled that there was a violation of rights regarding the right to be elected and the right to personal liberty and security in the case of Can Atalay, who was elected as an MP from Hatay in the general elections.

"THE PARLIAMENT WILL DO WHAT IS NECESSARY"

In his statement regarding Can Atalay, Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş said, "The stance of the TBMM is clear. It has been recorded that Can Atalay is on the list of MPs.

He is exercising his personal rights. With the consent and consensus of all parties, he was elected as a member of the Human Rights Commission within the framework of the rights granted to independents.

The decision of the Court of Cassation regarding Can Atalay has reached the Parliament, but I have not referred it to the General Assembly; the Constitutional Court's decision is clear, and the Parliament will do what is necessary," he stated.

THE FILE WILL BE RE-EVALUATED

The file will be handled again by the Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court.
