Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş pays an official visit to Russia
The Office of the Speaker of the Parliament announced that Numan Kurtulmuş will pay an official visit to Russia from September 23-26. Kurtulmuş will hold important meetings in Moscow and is expected to meet with Vladimir Putin. It was emphasized that the visit aims to improve Turkey-Russia relations.

According to a written statement from the Office of the Speaker of the Parliament, Numan Kurtulmuş will pay an official visit to Russia from September 23-26. The purpose of the visit is defined as strengthening Turkey-Russia relations and increasing economic cooperation.
On the first day of his visit, Kurtulmuş will visit the Yunus Emre Institute in the capital, Moscow, and meet with students there. He will also receive members of the Russian-Turkish Businessmen Association at the Turkish Embassy in Moscow. There, he will evaluate opportunities for commercial cooperation between the two countries and topics that will contribute to the development of economic and social relations.
On Tuesday, September 24, he will hold an inter-delegation meeting with Valentina Matviyenko, Speaker of the Federation Council, the upper house of the Russian parliament. On the same day, he will also visit the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry. Kurtulmuş will attend a meeting at the Academy to address regional experts, faculty members, young diplomats, and students.
MEETING WITH PUTIN EXPECTED
On Wednesday, September 25, Kurtulmuş will address the General Assembly of the Federation Council, the upper house of the Russian parliament. He will then visit the State Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament, and hold an inter-delegation meeting with State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
Kurtulmuş, who is expected to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, is also planned to travel to St. Petersburg as part of his Russia visit to meet with St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly Speaker Aleksander Belsky and attend a reception held in his honor.
During Parliament Speaker Kurtulmuş's visit, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Gülizar Biçer Karaca, AK Party Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş, İYİ Party Group Deputy Chairman Mehmet Satuk Buğra Kavuncu, Turkey-Russian Federation Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group President and AK Party Manisa Deputy Murat Baybatur, MHP Samsun Deputy İlyas Topsakal, and Secretary General of the Parliament Talip Uzun will also travel to Russia.
HIGHLIGHTS
During his visit to Russia, Kurtulmuş is expected to evaluate cooperation between Turkey and Russia within the framework of Turkey's foreign policy vision regarding regional and global developments and to deliver messages aimed at increasing this cooperation. Furthermore, it is planned to focus on common visions for preventing the crimes against humanity committed by Israel, which is carrying out attacks on Palestinian territories, especially in Gaza.
