Parliamentary crisis in CHP with two chairmen: Group meeting request for Özgür Özel

The leadership crisis in the main opposition party, which has moved from the courthouse corridors to the roof of the TBMM, has turned into a historic deadlock over the question of who will speak from the group podium tomorrow. Following the announcement that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was appointed to lead the party by the "absolute nullity" ruling, would address the Parliamentary Group Meeting on Tuesday, June 9, the Özgür Özel wing made a counter-move.

The party's elected Chairman Özgür Özel announced that he would not take a step back and would attend the Parliamentary Group Meeting to be held tomorrow and take the podium. Immediately after this statement, the CHP Parliamentary Group initiated the bureaucratic process and submitted an official petition to the Speaker of the TBMM:

Official application made: The Parliamentary Group officially notified the Speaker of the Parliament that the meeting would be held tomorrow under the chairmanship and leadership of Özgür Özel.

13:30 set as the time: In the submitted petition, the meeting time was recorded as 13:30, and "Özgür Özel" was explicitly stated as the person who would speak at the podium.

"PARALLEL HEADQUARTERS" TENSION IN THE PARLIAMENTARY GROUP

This move, which came immediately after former party spokesperson Faik Öztrak's criticisms that "they are trying to destroy the party by creating a parallel headquarters in Parliament," has turned all eyes to 13:30 tomorrow. It is a matter of curiosity what kind of scene will unfold in the corridors of Parliament tomorrow between the dissident Party Assembly (PM) members, who argue that the chairmanship legally belongs to Kılıçdaroğlu, and the elected leader Özgür Özel, who has the support of the vast majority of the parliamentary group.
