Following the 'Öcalan' call made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli at the TBMM group meeting on October 22, 2024, a scandalous statement also came from MHP Afyonkarahisar Deputy Mehmet Taytak.

Last month, Taytak had referred to Abdullah Öcalan as 'gentleman' and drew significant backlash. Taytak later defended himself in a statement, saying, "It was a slip of the tongue; for us, Abdullah Öcalan is the head of the terrorists."
