The decision regarding the establishment of a Parliamentary Research Commission to investigate all aspects of the agricultural frost event that occurred in Turkey has been published in the Official Gazette. The commission's working period will be 3 months.
Accordingly, it was decided at the 76th session of the General Assembly on 15.04.2025 to initiate a parliamentary inquiry in accordance with Article 98 of the Constitution and Articles 104 and 105 of the Rules of Procedure, with the aim of investigating the consequences of the agricultural frost event that occurred in our country in April 2025, determining the damages suffered by producers and agricultural products, and identifying the measures to be taken to minimize the effects of similar events that may occur in the future. It was also decided that the commission to conduct this research will consist of 22 members, its working period will be 3 months starting from the date of the election of the chair, deputy chair, spokesperson, and secretary, and it may work outside of Ankara when necessary.
