Passenger bus engulfed in flames on Bolu Mountain, disaster averted
A passenger bus caught fire on the Bolu Mountain pass of the D100 highway in Düzce. Some citizens attempted to extinguish the blaze with buckets of water as explosions occurred.

The fire occurred around 00:00 on the Kaynaşlı district section of the D100 highway's Bolu Mountain pass.
According to the information received, smoke suddenly began to emerge from the engine compartment of the passenger bus with license plate 57 FE 678, which was traveling from Istanbul toward Ankara, while it was on the Bolu Mountain pass.
The bus driver noticed the smoke, pulled the vehicle to the side of the road, and evacuated the passengers. Following the report made to the 112 Emergency Call Center, fire crews were dispatched to the area. Some citizens at the scene tried to extinguish the fire with buckets filled with water. Upon their arrival, fire crews from the Kaynaşlı and Düzce municipalities brought the fire under control and extinguished it.
Following the fire, the bus was reduced to a heap of scrap metal, and the road was closed due to the blaze, resulting in a long convoy of vehicles.
