61 million 441 thousand 882 voters are heading to the polls to elect their local administrators.
In the election, 1 million 32 thousand 610 citizens are voting for the first time. In the elections where candidates from 34 political parties will compete, 206 thousand 845 ballot boxes have been set up across the country, and approximately one thousand mobile ballot boxes have been created.
In the elections where 81 provincial, 973 district, and 390 town mayors as well as 50 thousand 336 neighborhood heads (muhtars) will be determined, elections for provincial general assembly membership and municipal council membership will also be held.
How will the voter complete the voting process for the local administrators who will serve for 5 years?
Here is the step-by-step voting guide:
* Voters will be able to check where and at which ballot box they will vote via the YSK website, the e-Government portal, the YSK Voter Inquiry Mobile Application, or the YSK Call Center at "444 9 975".
* It is not mandatory to bring the voter information slip during the voting process.
* Voters arriving at the ballot box will hand one of the picture-bearing, official documents that "clearly establish their identity"—such as a Republic of Turkey identity card, an official identity card issued by public offices with a cold stamp, a passport, a marriage certificate, a military service document, a driver's license, a professional identity card issued to judges, prosecutors, and members of high judicial bodies, or an attorney, notary, or military identity card—to the ballot box chairperson and state their voter sequence number. Voters who do not provide one of these documents will not be able to vote.
* It is prohibited to enter the voting booth with image-recording or communication devices such as mobile phones, cameras, or video cameras.
* Voters will cast their votes by stamping "TERCİH" (PREFERENCE) or "EVET" (YES) within the section reserved for their preferred candidates on the combined ballot papers without overflowing.
For the vote to be considered valid, no signatures or marks should be placed anywhere on the ballot papers other than the "TERCİH" or "EVET" stamp. Nothing other than the ballot paper should be placed in the envelope. Voters who think they have cast their vote incorrectly and request a new ballot paper will not be given a new one.
* After casting the envelope into the ballot box, the voter will sign next to their name on the ballot box voter list.
