Penalties issued to Erman Toroğlu and AKP's Ahmet Genç: Fenerbahçe had filed a complaint

Following a complaint filed by former Fenerbahçe president Ali Koç and the board of directors, penalties have been issued to Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç and Erman Toroğlu.

PENALTIES FOR AHMET METİN GENÇ AND ERMAN TOROĞLU

Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç and former referee Erman Toroğlu were penalized under Law No. 6222. While Ahmet Metin Genç was issued a fine, Erman Toroğlu received a 1-year ban from attending sporting events.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç had accused the yellow-navy club of match-fixing in a post he made following the Fenerbahçe–Trabzonspor match. In his post, Ahmet Metin Genç stated, "Match-fixing is still ongoing. We don't even know how many people we are fighting against. A perfectly good goal disallowed and a red card in 20 minutes. Shame on you and damn you. Always the greatest Trabzonspor."

Former referee Erman Toroğlu, meanwhile, had made harsh remarks during the national team camp regarding Kerem Aktürkoğlu, who was in the headlines due to his transfer to Fenerbahçe.
