Perpetrators of armed attacks in Kağıthane and Şirintepe captured
Security camera footage of the suspects involved in the armed attacks in Istanbul's Kağıthane and Şirintepe districts accelerated the investigation; nine people were detained as a result of the operation.

The armed attack on an advertising and digital printing firm in Kağıthane on Friday, August 7, was recorded by security cameras near the scene. The footage shows an armed individual approaching the business, opening fire, and then quickly fleeing the area. Immediately following the incident, law enforcement launched an intensive effort to identify the perpetrators.
One day after the attack, a residence in the Şirintepe neighborhood was targeted with gunfire. Examining the connection between these two consecutive events, teams from the Robbery Bureau determined that the attacks were carried out by the same gang.
According to police sources, the extensive investigation revealed that the acts were committed by individuals affiliated with an organized crime group known publicly as the "Şapkalılar" (The Hat-Wearers). In the operation conducted under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that the organization operated out of Istanbul, across Turkey, and even internationally. Furthermore, it was established that the organization's leader is abroad and that there are red notices issued for some high-ranking members.
As part of the investigation, it was determined that the gang members had been involved in numerous other incidents. These acts include the shooting of an individual named M.E. in Beyoğlu on July 31, a wounding and threatening incident at a park in the Yeşilkent neighborhood of Avcılar on August 3, the shooting in Kağıthane on August 7, and the attack on the residence in Şirintepe on August 8.
