In his post on his social media account X, Petro included a photograph of Mustafa Thuraya and Hamza al-Dahdouh, who lost their lives as a result of Israel's attack on Gaza.

President Petro shared the statement, "108 journalists in the Gaza Strip were killed by bombs dropped on their homes."

Journalists Hamza al-Dahdouh and Mustafa Thuraya lost their lives after Israeli aircraft struck a vehicle carrying members of the press on duty in Khan Yunis on January 7.
