According to a report by Serbestiyet, Bahçeli contacted the lawyer of former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş, who has been imprisoned in Edirne Prison for approximately 9 years.

It was reported that during the phone call, Bahçeli conveyed the following words to be passed on to Demirtaş:

“His contributions to achieving this result were very valuable and effective; I would appreciate it if you could convey my thanks, greetings, and respects to him.”

The lawyer delivered this message from Bahçeli to Demirtaş at Edirne Prison.

In response to this message, Demirtaş wrote a handwritten thank-you note.

In his note, he stated that he thanked Bahçeli for his contributions and conveyed his own “greetings and respects” to him.
