Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi lost his life after his helicopter crashed. Mohammad Mokhber has since taken over as acting president. President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with Mohammad Mokhber.
During the call, Erdoğan expressed his sorrow and offered his condolences and patience regarding the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and the accompanying delegation members.
Stating that Turkey stands with Iran during these painful days and shares the grief of the Iranian people, Erdoğan expressed that Turkey will continue to fulfill the requirements of neighborly and brotherly law toward Iran in the coming period. Erdoğan said that the contributions of Raisi and Amir-Abdollahian to Turkey-Iran relations will always be remembered.
