Pipe-laden semi-truck loses control in Gümüşhane: Driver critically injured
A semi-truck loaded with pipes lost control on the İkisu-Şiran highway in Gümüşhane and crashed into a retaining wall. The driver, who was critically injured in the accident, is currently under treatment in the intensive care unit. Efforts to clear the road where the accident occurred are ongoing.

In Gümüşhane, a semi-truck loaded with pipes lost control on the İkisu-Şiran highway and crashed into a retaining wall. As a result of the accident, the truck driver was critically injured.
According to the information obtained, the semi-truck with license plate 77 EF 123, loaded with pipes and driven by İlyas Özdemir (23), was traveling from Şiran toward Torul when it lost control for an unknown reason in the Naldöken area of Gülaçar village during the morning hours and crashed into the retaining wall on the side of the road.
The truck, which overturned due to the accident, blocked the highway to traffic. The driver, Özdemir, who was critically injured, was taken to the Gümüşhane State Hospital intensive care unit for treatment following initial intervention by 112 Emergency Health teams at the scene.
Following cleanup efforts by Gendarmerie and Highway teams to remove the truck and the pipes that spilled onto the road, the highway was reopened to traffic via a single lane, and work is continuing.
