Plane fighting fire in Didim makes hard landing in water
A firefighting plane sent to contain a fire that broke out in an agricultural and scrubland area in the Didim district has made a hard landing in Lake Bafa.

Aydın's Didim district is currently seeing ongoing efforts to extinguish a fire that broke out in an agricultural and scrubland area.
The fire occurred in the Akyeniköy neighborhood at approximately 13:20.
According to the information obtained, a fire broke out in the agricultural and scrubland area for reasons yet unknown.
Citizens who noticed the fire, which spread due to the wind effective in the region, reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, fire department and forestry teams were dispatched to the area.
A firefighting plane responding to the fire in the scrubland made a hard landing in Lake Bafa.
The plane's nose submerged into the water while it was taking on water from Lake Bafa at approximately 16:30.
According to information obtained by BirGün, the firefighting plane belongs to the Turkish Aeronautical Association (THK). There were 3 personnel on board the plane. It was learned that 2 of the personnel on the plane were pilots, and the other was a staff member of the General Directorate of Forestry.
Upon the report, teams launched a rescue operation.
